Since this Saturday is everyone’s first time taking the computer SAT – and the procedures have therefore changed from those of the paper version – we wanted to be sure to include some pointers for test day.
1.) Students may use any Windows laptop or tablet, Mac laptop, IPad, or school-issued Chromebook. External mice are permitted for all devices; external keyboards are permitted only for Windows tablets and Ipads.
2.) Be certain to have Bluebook downloaded on your device already. Five days prior to test day, Bluebook will be updated with your admissions ticket and the option to run a system check. The system check must be run prior to test day.
3.) Scrap paper is provided, but you can’t bring your own. You can bring any type of pencil and your physical calculator also.
4.) Charge your device the night before. To be safe, bring a charger/extension cord with you.
5.) Do not try to open another screen while on Bluebook, which locks your computer screen. It is not clear if such an attempt would be viewed as cheating by CB, even if it’s accidental.
We hope everyone has a smooth testing experience with no technical glitches! Please reach out if you have any questions before test day.
Good luck to all!
