Abbie
A Massachusetts native, Abbie grew up between Wellesley and Newton and attended The Winsor School. She went on to graduate magna cum laude from Boston University with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and a Minor in Visual Arts. Abbie found her passion for education after working as a tutor and teaching assistant for students in grades 1-12+. She has taught an array of subjects including test preparation for the SAT, algebra, linear algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, calculus, English reading, and English writing. She has even taught outside of the classroom, instructing students in ceramics, scuba diving, and rock climbing! Her approach to teaching is flexible and varied – adapted to the individual’s needs, but always rooted in empathy. She strives to help each student gain a deeper understanding of concepts and foster a sense of confidence and identity in their academic lives. Whenever she can, Abbie will seek adventure outdoors through hiking, climbing, camping, running, and scuba diving. She is also currently working on fleshing out a new portfolio of visual art pieces.
