A New Hampshire native, Laura taught middle and high school English, math, and special education in the Boston and Los Angeles areas for ten years. She holds Massachusetts and California teaching licenses in special education, math, and English, as well as a B.A. in English from Northeastern University, a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Tufts University, and a graduate certificate in special education from Simmons University. In addition to her teaching experience, Laura has tutored students in-person and virtually for the past several years in SAT and ACT prep (all sections), as well as college essay composition, executive functioning skills, and academic subject content. She also works as a special education advocate with a law firm to help families navigate the special education process. Laura believes that all students are capable of achieving success, and works with each student by meeting them at their current level and helping them to identify and make progress towards their goals. When she’s not teaching or tutoring, Laura enjoys singing, songwriting, traveling, and gardening.
