Ricardo grew up in LA County California before moving to Boston to become a teacher from 2018-2020 for Teach for America (teaching at Boston Collegiate Charter School). He has received a B.S. in Biochemistry (UC Santa Barbara), M.S. in Education Practice and Curriculum (Boston University), and an M.S. in Food and Nutrition Policies and Programs (Tufts University). Ricardo has learned and practiced several strategies for supporting and empowering students from diverse backgrounds, students with disabilities, and emerging bilingualists to be proficient and independent learners. As a tutor, he specializes in teaching math, science, ACT, and SAT. Currently, Ricardo is a part-time consultant, creating educational content and impact evaluation systems with his company, Equity Metrics. In his free time, he enjoys training in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, going to church, cooking, and spending time with friends.
